Tehran, Ankara removes some contradictions

EghtesadOnline: Tehran and Ankara have removed one of the main contradictions regarding the political future of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Amir Abdollahian, adviser to Iran’s Majlis speaker, said, RIA Novosti agency reported.

Abdollahian said that the contacts between the Turkish and Iranian foreign ministries greatly intensified two years ago, according to ILNA.

That period Abdollahian served as deputy foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Middle East and North Africa.

"I have repeatedly attended the talks in Ankara,” he said in an interview with Sputnik agency.

He said that different views of Tehran and Ankara regarding the political future of legitimately elected President Assad were the key contradictions during that period.

"Together with the Turkish colleagues we have conducted great diplomatic work to remove the contradictions," he added.
